ABSTRACT

The narrative within this chapter talks of the problems that a poor village faces in terms of timely and proper medical/health care on account of lack of poor connectivity and economic inability to afford prompt and costly medical aid. The solution that the villagers hear about through news on television and radio is a real-life one brought about by a medical doctor who, after retiring from the Indian air force, saw the grim obstacles faced by poor and rural folks and came up with a jugaad ambulance cum medical aid dispensing unit to overcome them. The example brings out well the concept of social entrepreneurship and all the factors involved in it.
