ABSTRACT
Just two weeks ago Anna graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from a university in Sweden. 2 Some months prior to graduating, she was offered a job with a medium- large-size accounting firm in one of the bigger cities in Sweden. Anna felt that the last months of university had passed by very quickly as the studies were intense. Now she was ready for the next step in her life. Her first workday at the firm was Monday, 7 January 2019. During her first two years in the accounting firm, she would rotate between various functions. She had been informed that she would spend the first six months of her job in the corporate social responsibility (CSR) department to fill in for a lady who had gone on maternity leave. At university, she had been trained in financial accounting both at the basic and the advanced level, but her exposure to non-financial reporting was very limited.
