ABSTRACT

Stories have been told and heard from the day humans started communicating with one another. In recent years, sustainability professionals are increasingly recognizing the importance of storytelling to motivate action to tackle environmental issues. The aim of this chapter is to offer a basic understanding of storytelling for sustainability through a general lens. The chapter begins with an overview of storytelling for sustainability and discusses the importance of understanding the audience and use of images, videos and other tools of storytelling. It also offers an exploratory review of different forms of storytelling through real-world sustainable stories.
