ABSTRACT

The Good Behavior Game is an evidence-based, classwide strategy to promote positive student behavior. Students are divided into teams and the teacher monitors and records behavior during a pre-specified period of time. Within the Game, an interdependent group contingency is applied as teams earn reinforcement for meeting the criteria for reward. An example of the implementation of the Good Behavior Game to reduce disruptive behavior and increase academic engagement in an elementary classroom is presented, along with implementation suggestions.
