ABSTRACT

Video modeling involves an individual watching a video demonstration of a skill or behavior and then imitating the behavior or skill depicted in the video. Video self-modeling is a specific application of video modeling and involves the individual watching a video of him or herself successfully performing a behavior. In this method, the student is videotaped performing a skill or task with guidance from an adult. The student is then able to watch him or herself perform the skill or task successfully. The use of video self-modeling to teach positive social engagement and reduce problem social behavior is presented using an example of a middle school student.
