ABSTRACT
Brave Afghans have always fought dictatorship, backwardness, foreign influence and corruption. Islam is the religion of the people of Afghanistan and religion to them means a way of life. The Afghan resistance has some unique characteristics which make it different from other contemporary movements. The resistance is Islamic and in being so respects people of other religions. In the seven years of our armed struggle no individual or group of Afghans has committed any act of aggression against the Soviet Union outside Afghanistan. The Afghan resistance has numerous achievements to its credit, both in the military and political fields. Afghans know their war is a protracted one. They know that it is not just a military war, but a military-political one which must be fought on every front. The mujahideen have gained a lot of experience in different types of weapon.
