ABSTRACT

Data analysis has come to play a fundamental role within the sporting world, with a great deal of emphasis placed on athlete monitoring pre, during and post competition. The key outcome is to gain performance knowledge in movement, tactical statistics and physical workloads. These technological developments are staples amongst youth, professional and amateur sport, as coaches and athletes aim to objectively analyse performance to support their decision-making efficiency and productiveness in competition. This chapter will look to assess the current advances in technology that affect an athlete’s and coach’s decision-making abilities.
