ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses the issues of migration and urbanization, which are much debated in development literature, often highlighting the negative consequences compared to positive impacts. It focuses on the conceptual and theoretical dimensions of the relationship between migration, urbanization and development and also presents their potential and actual impact on development. It also argues that the development impact of migration and urbanization greatly depends upon how countries design their urbanization and migration policies.
