ABSTRACT

Shore-Goss raises the question of the missing ascended body of Christ. He develops the theological insights of N. T. Wright and Linn Marie Tonstad that the churches’ identification with Spirit allows them to narrowly constrict incarnational presence and unjustly exclude divine presence with the queer community. Shore-Goss argues that churches are required to seek out the missing body of the Ascended Christ in the queer community, ritual, and imaginative performative arts. Incarnational inclusivity is the focus of the Ascended Christ to look outside to find the missing body.
