April 3. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif launches a government-sponsored self-employment plan that promises loans of up to Rs 300,000 to unemployed youth. The money is used to finance the purchase of thousands of automobiles to be used as taxi-cabs. The project is dubbed the “Yellow Taxi Scheme.”
