ABSTRACT
For me to be able to read the essays that make up this volume constitutes a pure delight. As much as anything they strengthen my sense of how very kind psychology has been to me. It has allowed me to have a very happy career in a young science and thus to play some small role in shaping the directions that the field has taken over the past forty years.
