ABSTRACT

The national policy should provide proper protection for commodities produced by local technologies from available material resources. This chapter discusses the proper dissemination of information by research and development institutions to the production system. It shows that universities and research institutions should develop a system by which results of their research which are relevant to production could be rewritten in a simple and directly applicable form. Research projects of the type considered are beneficial to the research institutions, the production sector and to the economic development plan of the Government. The co-operation between research institutions and production establishments could be strengthened further by a program of mutual visits at both levels of administrative and research staff. Research and development institutions must do everything possible to identify production problems and hence approach directly the relevant units of the production system with research products designed to solve such problems.
