ABSTRACT

ISFA, a full-service investment firm, began operations in late 1982. It is predominantly owned by 32 depository institutions in key markets across the country. In addition to its INVEST service, the ISFA Group also offers the INSURE program to banks and thrifts for insurance products, and ISFA Mortgage Funding is an issuer of collateralized mortgage obligations. Subscribers to the INVEST program have significant flexibility to use the types of marketing and advertising that best meet the needs of their target markets. INVEST subscribers have begun to use direct mail pieces and statement stuffers, all provided at no cost, that focus on the yield or return of the product combined with some type of features and benefits presentation. The future of banks and thrifts lies in selling quality financial products of all kinds, extending customer relationships, and establishing new sources of fee income.
