ABSTRACT

In designing economic co-operation among developing countries (ECDC) programmes the developing countries should define their national positions more consistently with the need for strengthening collective self-reliance and deepening interdependence at the interregional, subregional and regional levels. Possibilities for promotion of co-operation between developing countries' integration schemes and developed countries" integration schemes should be studied in order to foster ECDC and technical co-operation among developing countries (TCDC) processes. Joint ventures among developing countries appear to be one of the most dynamic and promising avenues for the attainment of ECDC/TCDC goals. International, regional and subregional development finance institutions should expand their operations to supply export credits, equity, and direct financing to multinational enterprises of developing countries. A good source for identifying joint venture projects might be government agencies concerned with the planning of national industrial development and/ or reviewing projects for credit or investment incentives.
