ABSTRACT

In 1990, women gave Democrats 54 percent of their votes, whereas men gave them only 50 percent. The women’s agenda is the agenda of the Democratic party. These female political attitudes provide the potential for mobilizing other women in the electorate to vote Democratic. The Democratic party needs to make clear the impact of the postindustrial society on the ordinary citizen. The people most affected by changes are actual and potential Democratic voters. A strong commitment to affirmative action by the Democratic party is a key to winning the support of women on the crucial economic issues. The Democratic party has come up with new ways to use government creatively in order to improve the life of the ordinary citizen. The Democratic party must commit itself to electing more women to office and appointing more women to positions of responsibility.
