ABSTRACT
The Chinese attempts to build a legal underpinning are still at an early, primitive stage. As they acquire experience they are beginning to amend their legislation. The Chinese seem to be telling foreign businessmen, at least in some cities, to write in whatever protection their legal staffs insists upon to protect their rights. The Chinese will then find a way to accommodate it within their own legal frameworks.
