ABSTRACT

Perspective in values is a much trickier problem. Indeed, it underlies many of the dilemmas and unresolved anxieties of social life. There are, infact, profound evolutionary reasons, both for the existence of perspective and also, oddly enough, for the larger perception that it is an illusion. In terms of perspective, every individual is the center of a perceptual universe. There is an image in each individual's mind as to where he or she is in relation to the whole surrounding world. The social product of the household can perhaps be visualized most clearly if imagine a society without this institution. Within the imperfect markets of the real world, transactions are continually going on at prices which vary all the time but which do have a certain central tendency towards a range of equilibrium values. An organization consists of a structured set of roles arranged very largely through a central budget.
