ABSTRACT

The developing countries have carried out technical cooperation on the basis of mutual benefit by setting up joint ventures and providing technical and labour services. To ensure the smooth development of South-South cooperation, the developing countries in their practice have summed up many effective principles. From a long-term point of view, the strengthening of South-South cooperation does not mean to preclude or replace the promotion of North-South economic relations. The differences and difficulties with the Third World which are unfavourable to South-South cooperation can be overcome step by step through endeavour. The developing countries have held a series of consultations in order to promote South-South cooperation. South-South cooperation is aimed at strengthening the developing countries’ ability for self-reliance and promoting the development of their respective economies through helping to supply each other’s needs and learning from each other’s strong points to offset one’s weaknesses.
