ABSTRACT

Since the early 1960s, when the concept of military doctrine was reintroduced into Soviet military thought, "A Unified Military Doctrine and the Red Army" has been regarded as a basic text in the Soviet Union. As far as the military machinery is concerned, based on the general state program it must assume an organizational form responding most fully to the general tasks of the state. The basic idea and sense behind dictatorship of the proletariat comes down to the task of destroying capitalistic production relations and replacing them with a structure based on public ownership of the means of production and planned distribution of the goods it produces. This idea is in irreconcilable conflict with the foundations for the existence of all other countries of the world, in which capital reigns throughout. War requiring colossal endurance, discipline, firmness, inflexibility, and a united will.
