ABSTRACT
The party bases its activity on the priority of general human values over the interests of classes and social groups. For democratic socialism is constant motion, a ceaseless perfection of society by means of the historic creativity of the people itself. The place and role in society of parties and public organizations is determined by their authority and support among the people. All the attempts to bring to life visions of Communist society with the help of violence, liquidation of the market economy and political pluralism have brought people to a social impasse and caused the tragedy of millions of people and whole nations. The basic goal of radical political reform, and simultaneously the most important precondition for and means of carrying out all the other transformations, is the dismantling of the totalitarian system of power and a transition to a parliamentary, multi-party, law-based state.
