ABSTRACT
This introductory chapter offers a brief discussion of the rationale behind this book, which has been conceived to investigate how humour translation has evolved over the last two decades. The contributions aim to address and debate how today’s globalised communication, media and new technologies are influencing and/or shaping humour translation. Furthermore, the chapters in this book intend to map out future directions for research in this field of inquiry and its practice within a variety of contexts.
