ABSTRACT

This chapter aims to address ethical challenges associated with online teaching. More specifically, it addresses the relevant ethical issues and recommendations for practice regarding technological advancements and competencies in online teaching, academic dishonesty, and the influence of cultural and linguistic boundaries. Online courses can include a number of different components to facilitate learning, communication among students and instructors, and create and disseminate educational materials beyond reading relevant literature for each unit. Misrepresenting one’s identity within the academic context can occur when an individual is purposely deceiving the professor in an attempt for academic advantage. Online teaching environments are unique because of the complexity of the learning framework. The benefits of utilizing online courses in Sport, exercise, and performance psychology can be considerable. As such, online courses and learning platforms have increased in interest and utilization.
