ABSTRACT

Considering the fact that the social media is seen as a diasporic tool, which cuts across barriers, the content and information circulated through it then becomes the tool that can be used to reach out to Ghanaians in diaspora. The image building ability of the social media should be properly subscribed to in other to resolve conflicts. With the various assertions, it is pertinent to note that the conflict between Nigerians and Ghanaians have been taken to the social media and various social media users take only what is relevant to them and use their various posts to their own advantage. Peoples are connected to the world through the various social media platforms ranging from twitter to Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, Imo, Skype, Wechat, Badoo etc. and they all play important roles in the way their communicate and spread information. As a result, social media as a tool for conflict resolution should be explored.
