ABSTRACT

This paper aims to explore the benefactive marker kang7 共 in Li Jing Ji, a Ming Qing Southern Min script compiled by Wu Shouli. In the light of frame semantics and constructions grammar, I will explore the interaction between kang7 共 and other elements in constructions. First, the mood of sentence could have effects on the features, movement of elements, even the percentage of imperatives in different constructions. Secondly, when the Affectee and the Target are in ‘owner and body-part’ relation, ‘mismatch’ examples could be found. I will discuss this possible restriction in this paper.
