ABSTRACT
This chapter explores the historical development of feminist criminology, with particular attention paid to Australian and New Zealand scholarship. It situates feminist criminological approaches within the broader academic theorising of critical criminology, as well as within its history of feminist activism and protest. In so doing, it highlights the interdisciplinary and intersectional trajectory of feminist criminological approaches. This chapter outlines key debates in feminist criminology, contemporary areas of study and future directions.
