ABSTRACT

The process of becoming an MBP teacher takes the reader on a journey that can involve significant shifts in identity. It comes with the satisfaction and challenge of being a whole life engagement. This chapter aims to: examine intention as the ground for our teaching practice, reflect on the conditions that support the development of skills, qualities, and knowledge for MBP teaching practice and present the practicalities that need to be in place to start teaching. This book is dedicated to exploring the skills, qualities, and knowledge needed for MBP teaching. Here, the author offers some brief reflections on our development process as MBP teachers in these areas. Having touched on how the people can support themselves to develop the skills and qualities the people need as MBP teachers, they turn now to the development of underpinning knowledge. While in training, MBP teachers need to immerse themselves in a focused process of knowledge acquisition.
