ABSTRACT

Mindfulness-Based Supervision is key to supporting MBP teachers’ learning and development, and for the emergent field of MBPs to maintain standards and integrity. This chapter aims to share CMRPs knowledge and experience of MBS. Integrity within the supervision process includes ensuring that both the supervision itself and the supervisee's teaching practice is held within a code of professional ethics, and that the embodied ethics of mindfulness practice are integrated throughout. The supervisor takes responsibility to protect their safety and the integrity of the work, with the firm clarity of wisdom that accompanies compassion. The specifics of what teaching skills are explored in supervision will depend on the people development stage. Many supervisees usefully bring specific moments that have arisen in their teaching that relate to the learning and developmental processes of individuals and the group, along with group dynamics, the teaching process and the issues that come up during the course.
