ABSTRACT

Middle East and North Africa (MENA) countries, says Ghorfi, face three main challenges: unemployment, a weak private sector, and gender inequity. Business schools can help leaders overcome all three. Read more in his commentary, “Harnessing the Power of Business Education in the Arab World.” In 2012, Herb Davis of George Washington University in Washington, D.C., shared with us his experience building capacity of business schools in Iraq. Business schools in the MENA region are also scaling up access to education—and to do that, they’ll need a pipeline of talented faculty. The program allows students—often women—to earn their doctorates as they interact with Brunel faculty via primarily virtual formats. “Scaling Up Small and medium-sized enterprises” describes Olayan School of Business’s Growth Readiness Program, an executive education program designed for leaders in this sector.
