ABSTRACT

Business schools might have different internationalization motives depending on their country of origin, their legal status, or on different funding sources. Due to increasing globalization, internationalization is highly relevant for business schools. The internationalization goals of business schools from developed and less developed markets might also be differentiated. The internationalization goals of public and private business schools might also be differentiated. Internationalization can be described based on abilities to attract the three most important stakeholders, students/alumni, faculty, business partners or based on the academic and research activities of a business school and their place of performance. Business schools are very creative in developing strategic opportunities to meet their internationalization goals. Internationalization strategies are used to allow a business school to meet its purpose to produce effective business leaders and to conduct research that has impact on the practice of management.
