ABSTRACT
This chapter draws on interviews conducted between August and October 2015 with Ukrainian intellectuals concerning the Euromaidan and Revolution of 2013–14 and the ensuing war with Russia. At the time of these events, the writers and scholars interviewed often challenged media coverage outside the country. The chapter reports their attitudes toward civil society, nationalism, Eastern Ukraine, Putin, Western reporting, and future prospects for Ukraine.
