ABSTRACT
This chapter will explain what field notes are and how they are used as a data collection method in ethnographic research. The advantages and disadvantages will be outlined along with a discussion about credibility, trustworthiness and authenticity. The author will draw on her own experiences of using field notes in her own ethnography work to illustrate the use of and some of the issues with field notes as a data collection method.
