ABSTRACT
This chapter highlights the Indian perspectives of social work practice. It throws light on the various Indian traditional practices followed in India since the ancient period. It also critically examines the impact of Western wisdom influencing India’s education system as well as its detrimental effects on us. Besides this, the chapter incorporates various arguments in favor of the Indianization of social work education in India and proposes various suggestions for developing a Bharatiya curriculum in social work.
