ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the author discusses her experiences of sex and sex education in America. The contents are a part of the initiative to bring forth the marginalized perspectives and to create a platform that would raise awareness about the multiple facets to and struggles with sexuality, which often made students feel isolated, particularly because their issues were never addressed as a part of sex education. The author says that her parents never talked much about sex with her and when she started exploring her sexuality with others, she did not feel comfortable approaching them with her confusion and shame. She faked orgasms with every partner until she was 35 years old, and did not understand why she was doing this for so long. Her $88 Magic Wand was the best investment as the purchase led her to ecstasy. She believes with open communication and better sex education, young people wouldn’t be struggling so much with their sexuality and exploration.
