ABSTRACT

The author says she got pregnant when she was studying abroad in London during her third year of college. Her boyfriend at the time lived in London, and they had been spending their time together, doing all of the touristy stuff he had never before felt like doing. She talks about how she had been coerced into using an IUD that was not of her choice. She eventually became pregnant despite having an IUD. The author explains the painful process of abortion. The days before the abortion were full of crying, endless crying, more liquid coming from her eyes than she knew could be housed in her tear ducts. She says she does not regret her decision not to bring a child that she did not want into the world as she would not have had enough money, time, support, or maturity to raise up in the way that she hope to one day raise her children.
