ABSTRACT

In this chapter, I look back at the lessons learned in the sections prior and make suggestions for influencers, practitioners involved in influencer marketing, and researchers to continue to grow the field. This chapter begins with a look at the conceptual papers aimed at answering initial debates related to the evolution of influencers and the development of influencer marketing. The contributing authors in the book provide empirical studies from around the globe and from different angles. I summarize the key advice for aspiring influencers as well as address the dark side and legal issues facing those involved in influencer marketing as well as the implications for advertising regulations. This chapter concludes with calls for future research. While it is not imperative that every previous chapter is read prior to this, the reader is highly encouraged to go back to the chapters if the information is not clear.
