ABSTRACT

The theory of replicative systems predicts a number of unknown features of evolutionary systems, such as the direction of evolution, the mechanism of the emergence of organizational levels and compartments, etc. The most important among the numerous possible functions is the replicative function. In a replicative organization components are endowed with functions, expressed by functional information. A replicative coordination of the supercycles develops, characterized by increasing fidelity of replication. The living cell is a molecular network which creates itself by producing its components in a replicative process: its only function is to produce itself. Replicative selection is a highly creative mechanism which eliminates only those variants which are unable to replicate. The act of creation in the creative spaces is influenced by many factors other than replicative information. The most important question is whether the evaluation of the data on the basis of the replicative paradigm would result in a better understanding of social and societal processes.
