ABSTRACT

Development and decline in all realms and at every level depend, in one way or another, on the querulous character of the individual. The individual will be regarded as the object of the processes of Evolution-Revolution, but as mediated by parents and anonymous other persons. The fundamental elements germane to the notions of evolution and of revolution as they bear upon the existence of the individual emerged over a long period of time. At the scientific level, theories of Evolution-Revolution are generally expressed in terms of statistical regularities and laws. The dialogic dimensions of the individual as power have been approached from a number of other points of view : human reason, human action, human practicality and human aggressiveness. As a member of the natural dialogic universe, then, the individual can be compared to a point of lying above and equidistant from the four points of a square.
