ABSTRACT

In this chapter, a general description of some computational semantic systems is presented, and specifically those focused on the semantic analysis of Spanish texts. The chapter covers the semantic analysis at three levels: lexical, sentence and textual. For each level I will present the linguistic model that support the analysis and then specific tools. First of all, in section 2, systems devoted to lexical analysis are presented. They will cover two main approaches to lexical semantics: first a paradigmatic approach based on the use of dictionaries as resource 420for semantic representation of word senses, and second a syntagmatic approach based on vector space models of distributional semantics (word embeddings). In the next section (3), as well as a specific distributional semantics system, the semantic analysis of sentences based on semantic roles will be presented. Finally, section 4 will cover the semantic analysis at textual level. It will be focused on the extraction and analysis of recurrent topics from large corpus applying LDA-Topic Modeling. The chapter includes both general purpose tools (as Gensim) and specific tools (as FreeLing or MALLET). In section 5 I will present current computational semantic models that have not been adapted to Spanish texts yet.
