ABSTRACT

Computers and their technology revolutionized the world and the world of libraries as well. This article includes a brief history of this computer technology as it relates to the Internet. In addition, it offers a history of library automation concentrating on acquisitions. Both a traditional model of acquisitions and a new model using the Internet depict the workflow before and after the use of the Internet, respectively. This article and the models are based on the acquisitions activities of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas which runs Innovative Interfaces as the integrated system.
