ABSTRACT

This case was written for school leaders, specifically building-level principals attempting to implement the adult developmental theory in feedback cycles. Often leaders embark on various change initiatives without considering adult development theory and the opportunities and tradeoffs possible for school improvement. Educators studying this case will learn how one principal’s schoolwide approach worked to transform academic achievement and build trust to strengthen the school. Educators will also learn how to replicate introducing, enacting, and evaluating the process of adult developmentally appropriate feedback for school improvement.
