ABSTRACT
This chapter explores, sometimes ambiguous, evidence for sexual violence (rape and assault) in ancient Egypt based on textual sources, as there are no explicit representations of such acts and they cannot be identified on human skeletal remains. It will be explored which genders act as actors and which as victims and when and how the victims cope with acts of sexual violence committed to them.
