ABSTRACT

Collaborating with physicians can be beneficial to both our clinical work and the lives of our patients. However, it can be challenging at times to work with other professionals who are trained and socialized differently, we can more easily grapple with these issues and experience a positive, collaborative relationship if we consider the ORCA principles in our work. Committing to openness, respect, curiosity, and accountability to power are crucial aspects of creating meaningful and effective interprofessional relationships. This chapter will discuss how the ORCA-Stance can help to facilitate our personal and professional growth and help us to establish and maintain high-quality relationships with medical professionals.
