ABSTRACT

The ORCA-Stance is a current synthesis of research, philosophy, and theory that seeks to be culturally sensitive and clinician-friendly. It draws upon efforts from as far back as the 1930s to distill the essences of effective approaches to psychotherapy and render them available to a diverse range of therapists. The model is basic enough, with its four interactive parts, to be useful to neophytes as well as veteran therapists. It is also couched in cultural humility, which distinguishes the model from most approaches to psychotherapy.
