ABSTRACT

Taking advantage of the opportunity to discuss fandom for “other-abled” sportspeople, this chapter begins with a discussion on stereotypes of disability and critical linguistic consideration and then discusses key people and institutions relative to what is known as para sport: 1. The International Paralympic Committee (IPC), 2. The Agitos Foundation, 3. AthletesFirst, and 4. Paralympic School Days (PSD). Paralympic Games have become the world’s second largest multi-sport event.
