ABSTRACT

Helen Neville had a profound influence on everyone fortunate enough to spend time in her lab. If all scientists conducted research the way Helen did, there would not be a crisis regarding replicability nor would there be a problem with understanding the implications of findings across levels of analysis. The time spent under Helen Neville’s mentorship shaped the foundation of my expertise in event-related potential (ERP) methods, how I approach questions as a scientist, how I write a paper, the connections I have with so many of the top scientists in the field, how I teach my students, run my lab, give a talk, and much more.
