ABSTRACT

This chapter emphasizes some fundamental points to be taken into account in order to achieve the goal of providing real access to cultural, museum and artistic heritage to the visually impaired (PVI). It expands on the translation aspect relating to new technologies, for example, digital technology and 3D printing. The chapter highlights the importance of using different technologies to make the experience of museum and cultural site visits increasingly accessible and interesting for PVI. It underlines that the use of different technologies must be part of a system, combining their potential with human presence, which is always essential and required. The chapter focuses on the possibility of using/enjoying a certain type of contemporary art that can be defined ‘immersive’, to put it simply. It also focuses on three different rooms of the exhibition: Les regards, Les grands tombeaux and Les lenges.
