ABSTRACT
The purpose of this paper is to provide the reader with an overview of SISAC, the Serials Industry Systems Advisory Committee. This unique organization strives to facilitate the handling of serials by publishers, librarians, and users. Employing the diverse capabilities of automation for this purpose, SISAC has proceeded to develop and implement two important proposed voluntary serial standards.
