ABSTRACT

The HEIs engaged in international mobility do so with the aim of providing their home students with an internationalised learning experience and to enrich their academic and intercultural learning, e.g. the University of Denver in the United States. Enhancing the quality of education through internationalisation requires that there are appropriate measures in place to do so. The case stories exemplify different avenues to achieve both quality enhancement and quality assurance. A key factor of quality enhancement is ensuring that appropriate – and in some instances innovative – forms of teaching, learning, and assessment are applied. Quality assurance measures vary depending on national or institutional rules and regulations. The case stories show that infusing international, intercultural, or global dimensions into the curricula is not straightforward and does not automatically deliver the quality and graduate attributes envisaged.
