ABSTRACT

This chapter explores the case of Argentina where an impressive feminist movement claiming “Ni una menos” (Not even one less — in regard to femicides) and demanding legal, free and safe abortion has developed in the last few years. Within this movement, feminist activists started to call attention to the violence, inequality and sexism that rule in festivals and concerts. Settled on a critical perspective, the study understands that it is indispensable to draw a connection amongst harms involving women at festivals, the bias of the socio-economic-cultural context in which these phenomena take place and the resistance strategies that the country is exposing. This critical approach is enhanced by a southern perspective, which highlights the particularities of harms and strategies involving people from the Global South.
