ABSTRACT
This article briefly describes the experiences of one science library in a system-wide project to convert serial entries, primarily periodical titles, to AACR2 using OCLC. The intent of AACR2 to simplify identifying periodicals titles has not proven to be entirely successful due to factors inherent to serials and periodicals. Many of these factors apply also to collections in the social sciences and humanities.
